What you learn this year is a seed. Don’t dig it up every week to check if it’s growing.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Learning does not show progress on the schedule you would like, and checking constantly is its own kind of interference. Most of the consolidating happens quietly between sessions, with no visible sign. Measuring yourself every few days mainly produces discouragement, because the interval is too short for anything to appear. The growth is real and simply not observable at that resolution.

Set a gap long enough that a change could show up, a term rather than a week. In between, pay attention to the work rather than the progress. When you do look back, compare against where you started, not where you hoped to be.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Are you digging up progress that just needs time?
