The moment you want to forget is usually the one with the best lesson in it.

Memories you flinch away from are usually the ones where something real happened, which is why they stick. The flinch is doing its job, keeping you out of the discomfort, and it also keeps the useful part sealed inside. That is how someone can carry an embarrassing moment for years and get nothing from it but the wince.
If you feel up to it, take one and look at it for five minutes on paper. What happened, what you would do now, what it showed you about what you care about. Some of them are not ready to be looked at yet, and that is allowed.
What moment do you replay less often than you should?
