Doing a small thing carefully is a quiet flex that only the right people will notice. That’s enough.

REFLECTION
Care is visible to a small audience. Most people see a job finished and move straight past it, but anybody who knows what the job involves can see exactly how it was done, and they tend to remember. That is the whole payoff. Chasing a bigger reaction than that usually turns the work into a performance instead.
Take one thing you would normally rush, the setup before practice, the way you write up an assignment, the station you wipe down at the end of a shift, and do it at full care without mentioning it. Notice who says something.
