You don’t need a plane ticket for perspective. There’s a neighborhood twenty minutes away you’ve never walked through.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Perspective mostly comes from standing somewhere you do not usually stand, and distance is only one way to arrange that. There is a street twenty minutes away where people shop differently, eat differently and worry about different things, and you have lived near it without ever walking down it. The gap between your normal and theirs does not require an airport.
Pick a part of your own town you have never been through and walk it on a Saturday. Go into a shop you have never entered. Notice which of your assumptions turn out to be wrong.
Which street near you have you never actually walked down?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
