Acting like nothing matters feels safe. It’s just armor that’s too heavy to dance in.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Acting like nothing matters is armour, and armour works by keeping things out. It does hold off the embarrassment and the disappointment, and it holds off everything else at the same time, which is why very little is fun while you are wearing it. You cannot be the person who suggests the stupid idea and the person who is above all of it.
Take it off somewhere low-risk this week. Dance badly, sing in the car, be visibly excited about something in front of people. Nobody is keeping score.
Where does looking unbothered stop you from joining in?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
