You never catch a tree in the act of growing, but one summer it’s suddenly tall enough to climb.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Change that happens slowly is invisible at close range. Nothing about today will look different from yesterday, which is exactly why daily checking is such a bad way to judge progress. You notice it across a gap, when you come back after a stretch away and the difference is suddenly obvious. Practice works that way, and so does getting stronger, calmer, or better at talking to people.
Make a marker now so a future gap is measurable. A video of you playing, a timed run, a page of writing with the date on it. Put it somewhere safe and do not look at it for three months.
Where has slow change in you suddenly become obvious?
