Speed bumps slow you down so you don’t crash later. Some setbacks are just speed bumps.

Some of what blocks you is designed to slow you rather than stop you, and it is easy to read the two as the same thing. Not making the team this year, a course that takes an extra semester, a plan that has to wait: those are pacing, not verdicts. Treating a bump like a wall is how people quit things that were still going fine.
Ask one question about whatever is in your way right now: is this stopping me or slowing me. Write the honest answer. If it is slowing you, work out the new timeline and keep going.
Which slowdown kept you from a much bigger mistake?
