Character is prepared in ordinary moments and revealed in extraordinary ones.

Extraordinary moments are famous for revealing who people are, and they do, but they never create it. Whatever appears in the crisis was assembled quietly over years of ordinary Tuesdays, in choices nobody remembers including you. The dramatic moment is the reading, not the writing.

Since you cannot know which day is the test, treat the preparation as the thing you actually control. Keep the ordinary choices clean. That is the entire method, and it is available today.
