If these are the best years of your life, someone forgot to tell your future. They’re not the peak. They’re the warm-up.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Being told this is as good as it gets is a strange weight to hand someone who cannot yet choose where they live or what they do all day. Most people’s range expands from here rather than shrinks. The version of your life where you pick the work, the city and the people is still ahead, and plenty of adults will tell you quietly that their thirties beat their teens by a distance.

Enjoy what is genuinely good now, and there is real stuff in it. Just do not accept a ceiling from someone describing their own life. Write down one thing you look forward to that requires being older.
