Winning makes you look good. Losing shows people who you are.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Winning makes almost everyone look generous, relaxed and fair, because nothing is being tested. Losing removes the cushion, and what is left is how you actually handle it: whether you blame the ref, whether you can say well played, whether you go quiet on the people who were there. Everybody watching learns more about you in that ten minutes than in the whole season before it. So do you.
Decide before the next one how you want to behave in the first ten minutes after it goes badly. Pick two things: one you will say, one you will not. Nobody makes good choices while it stings, so choose now.
Who do people meet when you are not winning?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
