Leaders go first on the boring stuff too.

Going first is easy when the task is the interesting one. The position is really earned in the other direction: stacking the chairs, carrying the kit, arriving early to set up, doing the admin nobody put their hand up for. People decide whether to follow someone based on that, not on the speech. Anyone can be in front when being in front is fun.

Take the worst job in your group this week and do it before anyone asks, without mentioning it afterwards. Not as a sacrifice and not to be seen. Do it twice and watch how differently people listen when you do have something to say.
