Some people will only respect you after you stop needing their respect.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Needing someone’s approval shows. It shapes how you stand, what you laugh at, which opinions you leave unsaid, and people read it before they can explain it. Oddly, the pursuit is the thing keeping the respect away, because respect tends to follow someone who is not asking for it. This is not a trick, and running it as a trick does not work, since the need is still visible underneath.
Pick the one person you have been auditioning for and stop for a week. Be normal, be civil, stop adjusting. Some will start paying attention, and the better outcome is finding out you did not need it that much.
Whose approval are you still quietly working to earn?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
