Being outside the center at school looks like a disadvantage while you are in it, because school rewards matching the shape of the room. Later the reward moves. What gets built, written, coded or played tends to come from people who spent years on something odd instead of on being liked, and by then the odd thing is a skill almost nobody else has.
Keep the interest nobody in your grade shares. Give it two hours a week that you never explain to anyone. People who look effortless at twenty-five were usually just early and unbothered at fifteen.
Which odd interest of yours might matter in ten years?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
