Fear is loud because it’s got nothing else going for it.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Volume is what fear has instead of accuracy. It cannot produce evidence, so it repeats itself, speeds up, and shows up at three in the morning when nothing can be checked against anything. Worries with a real case tend to make it quietly and once.

When something in your head gets loud this week, ask it for specifics. What exactly happens, and then what happens after that. Often the answer thins out under a direct question, which is not proof the worry was silly, only a way of putting it back to its actual size.
