You don’t need to be an “art person” to make art. You just need to make it.

The category is a gate that does not actually exist. Nobody hands out the title, and the people who have it simply made things long enough that others started using the word about them. Waiting to qualify means waiting on a permission slip that no one is authorized to sign.

Make one bad thing this week and let it be bad. A drawing, four bars, a page, a photo you never post anywhere. Finish it rather than perfecting it, because the qualification you are waiting for is just a stack of finished attempts.
