You’ll never see the full picture from inside the frame.

Every view you have of your own life is taken from one position, the one you are standing in, and that position is inside the thing you are trying to judge. You cannot see your own tone in an argument, or how you come across in a room. Not because you are careless, but because the vantage point does not exist from where you are.

This is what other people are for. Ask someone who likes you and does not flatter you what you are missing, and then let them answer without defending yourself. One honest outside sentence is worth a week of looking inward.
