Your playlist knows your moods better than your friends do. Maybe tell your friends more.

An algorithm gets your mood because you tell it, constantly and without noticing. Every skip and every replay at one in the morning is a data point you never had to say out loud. The people around you get none of that, and are working from your face and the word fine. The gap is not that they care less, it is that they have less to go on.
Tell one person one true sentence about how you actually are this week. Not a whole conversation, a sentence. People are much better at this than we assume, and they cannot respond to something they were never told.
What have your songs known lately that your friends haven’t?
