Your first year at a new job, your ears should be louder than your mouth.

You do not yet know why anything is the way it is. Most of the obvious improvements a newcomer spots were tried in 2019 and broke something nobody told you about, so an early confident opinion usually lands as a re-pitch of a known failure. Listening first is not timidity, it is data collection.

Keep a private list of everything you would change, with dates. Ask why before you propose anything, and ask it like you actually want the history. At six months, read your list back. Half of it will have answered itself and the other half will be worth saying.
