Become better enough that old measurements stop describing you accurately.

People form a picture of you and stop updating it, and the picture is often accurate to a version of you from years ago. Real growth eventually makes those descriptions wrong, and the mismatch is a sign the work is landing, even when it takes others a long time to catch up.

Notice where you are still being described by an old assessment. Rather than arguing with it, keep producing evidence. Descriptions update slowly, but they do update.
