A scarf is ten thousand tiny loops. No single loop impresses anyone, and the scarf still keeps you warm all winter.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

None of the units are impressive and the total is genuinely useful, which is how most worthwhile things are built. No single loop deserves a photograph, and nobody could tell you which loop mattered, and the whole thing still works in February. Value can live entirely in the aggregate and nowhere in the parts.

Stop grading individual loops. Today’s practice, today’s page, today’s shift: none of them will feel like anything on their own, and that is not a sign you are doing it wrong. Count the scarf, not the stitch.
