Wet concrete remembers every footprint. Give new routines time to set before you test them hard.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

A new routine is soft for a while before it becomes something you can walk on. In that early window, every exception gets recorded: the one skipped day, the one time you let someone talk you out of it. Later the same routine can absorb a missed morning, because by then it has set.

Protect the first three weeks of anything new more carefully than you think you need to. Say no to the things that would interrupt it, even small ones. Once it has hardened you can be flexible, but not yet.
