Speak up when the room is ready to hear it, not just when you’re ready to say it.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Being right is only part of the work; the rest is arriving at a moment when people can actually receive it. A good point delivered into a defensive room gets treated as an attack and then dismissed, and you lose the point permanently. Your readiness and theirs are two separate conditions.
Hold your good idea for one more beat this week and watch for the opening. After the tension drops, after the decision stalls, when somebody asks. The same sentence at the right moment does work that no amount of insisting can do.
Which room is not ready yet for what you’d say?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
