Your first paycheck will be small and your first apartment will be smaller. Both are chapter one, not the ending.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
The beginning of a working life is supposed to be modest, and almost nobody says so out loud. Small numbers and small rooms are the ordinary opening conditions, not a report on your potential or a preview of the rest. Comparing your first year to somebody else’s tenth is the fastest way to misread where you are.
Take a picture of the small place and keep it. Put your attention on what is getting better, the skill, the savings, the people, rather than the size of anything. Chapter one is not supposed to look like the ending.
Which small beginning of yours are you mistaking for a final answer?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
