Welcoming people and accepting anything they do are not the same policy. You can be generous, available, and glad to see someone while still having one requirement attached, and that is what makes the welcome sustainable. A condition is not a wall, it is the thing that lets the door stay open at all.

Decide what your one condition is and say it plainly if it comes up. Not a list, not a threat, just a standard: I am happy to talk when we are not shouting. Then keep the door open for everyone who can meet it, which is most people.
