A life with nothing to cover up has a lot more room in it.

Keeping something hidden takes constant background effort. You track who knows what, you keep two versions of a story straight, you tense up when a certain name comes up. None of that looks like work from the outside, but it runs all day and it uses the part of you that could be thinking about something better.

Look at the one thing you are managing right now and ask what it would take to stop having to. Sometimes that means a hard conversation, sometimes it just means not topping up a small lie again. Start with the smallest one and notice how much quieter the week gets.
