Peace has never once been found at the bottom of a scroll.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Scrolling works by promising that the next thing will settle you. It never quite does, because the design has no bottom and no natural moment where you feel finished. You put the phone down more restless than when you picked it up, unsure where the hour went, still carrying whatever you opened it to avoid.
Notice how you feel forty minutes in rather than two minutes in. If the answer is flat or wound up, that is worth knowing. Swap one of those stretches for something with an actual ending: an episode, a chapter, a walk around the block, anything you can arrive at the end of.
How do you usually feel after twenty minutes of scrolling?
