The “good old days” were somebody’s stressful Tuesday. Today will be someone’s good old days too.

Every golden era was, while it was happening, full of ordinary worry and people wishing they were somewhere else. Distance strips out the stress and keeps the warm parts, which is why the past always looks better organised than now. The same edit is coming for this year, and the footage is being shot at the moment.

Notice one thing today that you would miss if it stopped. The walk, whoever is in the passenger seat, how your kitchen sounds in the morning. Missing things later is fine; catching a few early is better.
