People tell you what matters to them with their calendar, not their captions.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Words are easy and hours are not. Whatever someone puts their evenings and weekends into is the honest statement of what they value, and it will sometimes contradict everything they say about themselves. That is not always hypocrisy. Often they simply have not noticed the gap yet.

Run the test on your own week before anyone else’s. Add up roughly where the hours went and set that beside what you would say you care about. Where the two disagree, move an hour rather than rewrite the description.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What would your calendar say you actually care about lately?
