Jealousy is a terrible editor. It cuts out their struggles and your wins in the same pass.

Comparison runs a biased edit. It keeps every advantage the other person has, cuts the years and the help and the difficulty behind them, and in the same pass deletes everything you have managed. What you are left with is a version of reality containing nothing to feel good about, and it feels completely accurate while you watch it.

Put the missing footage back on purpose. Ask what this actually cost them, then list three things you did this year that you have stopped counting.
