When everybody suddenly loves the same thing on the same day, ask who decided that.

Sudden agreement rarely happens by itself. A push, a release, a well timed clip, and within hours the same opinion is in everyone’s mouth as though it grew there naturally. Noticing the mechanism is not cynicism, since the thing may genuinely be good. It is just worth knowing how it got to you.

Ask where you first saw it and how many steps back the trail runs. Then decide separately whether you actually like it. Often the answer is yes, and now the liking belongs to you.
