You’re comparing their Saturday to your Tuesday. That’s not a fair fight.

Nobody posts the boring middle of their week. What you scroll past is the two hours somebody chose out of their best day, and what you are living is an ordinary afternoon with all its dullness attached. Same kind of person, different slice. The comparison feels like evidence and is really just a difference in editing.

When a post lands on you sideways, name the slice out loud. That is their Saturday and this is my Tuesday. Then find one thing in your actual week that would have looked good in a photo you never took.
