Make some things just for you before anyone gets a vote. The first draft belongs to the creator.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Work made with an audience already in the room gets shaped by that audience before it is finished. You trim the strange part, the part that is most yours, because you can hear in advance what somebody would say about it. A first pass with nobody watching is the only version that comes out the way you meant. Feedback is useful later and corrosive early.
Make one thing this week that nobody sees, a song, a drawing, a page of writing. Finish it before you show anyone, or decide not to show it at all. Both of those are allowed.
What could you make this month and show to nobody?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
