Sitting by water with nothing to do is one of the oldest ways humans figured themselves out.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Moving water gives your eyes something to do while leaving your mind loose, which is a rare pairing. Most of a day either demands all of your attention or leaves you reaching for a screen, and neither state lets anything surface. Sitting somewhere with nothing required of you is uncomfortable for about ten minutes and then it stops being uncomfortable. Whatever you have been outrunning shows up in the second stretch.
Find some water this week, a lake, a river, even a fountain, and sit there with empty hands. Give it longer than feels natural. The useful part arrives late.
Where near you could you sit with nothing to do?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
