Talking to yourself out loud isn’t weird. Sometimes a plan only makes sense once you hear it in a real voice.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Thinking silently lets you skip steps, because your head fills the gaps on its own and never asks you to prove a connection. Saying it aloud forces the whole thing into order, and the weak link becomes obvious the second you try to speak it. That is why explaining a problem to somebody often solves it before they reply. The other person was optional.
Next time you are stuck, say the plan out loud to an empty room, start to finish, as if someone had to follow it. Listen for the sentence you stumble over. That is the part that was never worked out.
