Learn the difference between missing a person and missing a routine. They feel the same until you check.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
A lot of what feels like missing someone is missing the shape your days had around them. The walk to class, the message at eleven, knowing what Friday was. When that structure goes, the ache is real, but it is not always about the person. Sorting the two apart changes what you should do about it, which is the whole reason it matters.
Ask which specific moment you miss, then ask whether somebody else in that moment would feel like a fair trade. If yes, you are missing the routine, and a new one can be built. If no, that is worth knowing too, and worth not deciding at midnight.
