Skills are the only leverage nobody can repossess.

Everything else can be taken back. A title depends on somebody keeping you, money can go, a following can move on, a place can stop being yours. What you can actually do sits inside you and survives all of that, which is why people who can build, fix, write or teach recover faster than people who only held positions. The difference shows up at the worst moment rather than the best one.

Pick one skill that would still be useful if your current situation vanished and give it real hours this month. Choose something with a visible output, and keep a record of what you made.
