Anyone can have power over other people. Power over your own habits is rarer and harder.

LEADERSHIP

WHAT THIS MEANS

Pushing other people around is cheap. It needs volume, or a title, or just being the loudest person in the group, and plenty of people manage it by accident. Running yourself is the rarer skill, because there is nobody to intimidate and no audience to perform for. The only thing holding the line at eleven at night is you.

Pick the habit that costs you the most and give it one rule you can keep. Phone charging outside the room, homework before the shift, one glass of water before anything else. Keep it for a week and notice how differently you handle everyone else.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Do your habits obey you, or is it the reverse?
