Choose your allies before the season starts. Nobody recruits well during a crisis.

Relationships built under pressure are built on need, and need is a bad foundation. When something has already gone wrong you take whoever is available, and you find out afterwards what they are like. The time to work out who is steady is when nothing is happening, because that is when people show you their ordinary behavior.

Pay attention now to who follows through on small things. Then invest a little in those people while you do not need anything: turn up, help with the boring task, answer the message. When something does go wrong, you will already know who to call.
