Ten years from now you won’t care about the pictures of your food. You’ll care about the blurry ones of your people.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Photos become valuable in the opposite order from how they were taken. The composed ones age into nothing, and the badly lit one with three people laughing at something off camera turns into an entire evening inside one image. The reason is plain: a face you love carries more information than a nice plate.
Take more pictures of people this week, including the ones who wave you off. Skip fixing the lighting, and take a second shot while everybody is still moving. Then send them to whoever is in them, because that is how they end up kept.
