Dependability makes trust practical.

Trust as a feeling is pleasant and does not do much. Trust becomes practical when it changes behaviour, when someone stops verifying, delegates without hesitating, or makes plans assuming you will come through. Dependability is what converts the sentiment into something useful.

Watch for whether people actually act on their trust in you. If they say they trust you and still check everything, the dependability has not yet been established, whatever they feel about you.
