Every generation thinks it invented being young. Every generation also finds out it doesn’t last.

The feeling that nobody has ever been through exactly this is genuine and completely universal, which is an odd pair of facts to hold at once. The adults around you had the same certainty about their own version, and they were about as right as you are. What changes is the technology and the music, not the thing underneath it.

That is more useful than annoying. Ask an older person what being your age actually felt like and listen for the parts that match. Their hindsight is free, and you are living the part they cannot get back.
