A playlist someone made you years ago still says more than a hundred texts. Make things for people.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Made things carry proof of attention in a way messages cannot. A text is instant, so it reads as instant, while something assembled over an hour says somebody was thinking about you while you were not in the room. That is why a burned playlist or a bad drawing survives in a drawer for a decade. Quality barely matters here; the time spent is the entire message.
Make one small thing for somebody this week. A playlist, a photo printed out, a list of reasons you like them, anything you can finish in an hour. Hand it over without explaining it and let the object do the talking.
Could you make something by hand for someone you love?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
