A song you wrote at fifteen might be terrible, and it’ll still be the only record of what fifteen felt like. Make stuff.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Making something is the only way to keep a state of mind you will otherwise lose entirely. You will not remember what this year felt like from the inside, only a summary that somebody else could have written. A bad song from fifteen is not competing with good songs, it is the sole surviving copy of one specific person on one specific afternoon. Quality is genuinely beside the point.
Make one thing badly this month and show nobody. A song, a page, a video, a drawing. Date it and keep it somewhere it will not disappear in the next phone upgrade.
What could you make now that records how this year feels?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
