It was whether they ever stopped and looked at what had happened. Experience converts into knowing something only if somebody reviews it, and most people are too busy or too uncomfortable to do that.

Review one thing that went wrong recently, on paper, without defending yourself. What you expected, what happened, what you would change. Ten minutes is enough to make the next year worth more than the last.
