Your little siblings are watching how you handle everything. You’re their preview of what growing up looks like.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Younger kids learn what an adult is by watching the nearest one, and that is often you rather than your parents. They pick up how you take being told no, how you talk about school, how you speak to a parent on a bad day. None of it is a performance they are grading. It is just the only footage they have of what comes next.

You do not have to be a model of anything. Let them see you get something wrong and handle it plainly, which is more useful to them than never seeing you struggle. Then take them somewhere this week.
