Somebody taught you to tie your shoes, ride a bike, parallel park. You didn’t get here solo.
GRATITUDE
GRATITUDE
Almost everything you do without thinking was taught to you by somebody standing there being patient. Shoelaces, brakes, how to hold a knife, how to reverse into a space. Independence feels self-made mostly because the scaffolding gets taken away once it works. Forgetting that is normal rather than ungrateful.
Pick one skill you use constantly and remember who handed it to you. Tell them, even years late and slightly awkwardly. Then take the other side of it this week and teach somebody something small without making them feel stupid.
Who taught you something so basic you forgot they taught it?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
