If they’re a different person every time the crowd changes, which one exactly are you friends with?
GRATITUDE
GRATITUDE
Someone who reshapes completely for every group is not being flexible, they are being unreadable. You cannot build much on a person whose opinions arrive with whoever is in the room, because the version you like might not survive the next table. Often it is fear rather than fakeness, a worry that the real one is not enough. Still, you end up guessing instead of knowing.
Ask yourself whether you could predict what a certain friend would say if you were not there. If you cannot, go slower before handing them anything heavy. Then run the same check on yourself, because the habit is easy to catch.
Which version of that person do you actually know?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
