People form predictions about you and then stop looking, which means their picture stays accurate to whoever you were when they made it. Changing enough that those predictions fail is one of the more satisfying forms of progress, though it takes longer to register externally than internally.

Rather than arguing with how you are seen, simply become someone the old prediction does not fit. Do that consistently and the revision happens without you asking for it.
