Maple trees drop every leaf, stand bare for months, and nobody calls them failures. Off-seasons are allowed.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Bare periods are part of how living things work, not evidence of decline. Nothing grows continuously, and what looks like emptiness is usually a slower process happening out of sight. The pressure to be visibly producing all year is a human invention and matches nothing in the natural world. Rest is a stage rather than a gap.

If you are in an off season, stop measuring it against the months when the growth was obvious. Ask what quiet work this period is for, and do that at its own pace. Growth comes back without needing to be forced.
