Some seasons you grow roots, not leaves. Nobody sees it, and it’s the reason you’ll survive the next drought.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Growth you cannot see still counts. Some seasons produce nothing visible because the work is underground: steadiness, health, habits, relationships that will matter when conditions turn hard. This kind of progress goes unpraised, since there is nothing to photograph. It is also the reason some people hold when a drought arrives and others do not.

If this period looks unproductive from outside, ask what it is strengthening that nobody can see. Protect the routines doing that work even while they show no result. Roots are the least glamorous and most consequential thing you build.
